🔬 Research Topics of Interest:

• Inactivation of Waterborne Viruses Using Novel Technologies: This project aims to investigate advanced virus inactivation methods for water treatment, including a novel technology that combines cold plasma with supercavitation, for the effective treatment of important waterborne viruses such as enteric viruses and their surrogates.
• Mechanistic modelling of ectotherm physiological responses to droughts: The main objectives of such a project would be to develop individual biophysical and environmental microclimatic models for selected model organisms and integrate them into a mechanistic model, and to test the possibility of including an additional parameter "environmental water availability" in addition to temperature in mechanistic models of terrestrial ectothermic organisms to explain their ecology and biology, based on the comprehensive dataset about physiology, behaviour and habitat use of selected ectoherm model species.
• A Multiscale Digital Twin of Plants under Environmental Stress: The project would create a predictive Plant Digital Twin through rigorous integration of detailed molecular interaction networks and cell-level automata into dynamic models of organ and whole-plant architecture. This initiative addresses the critical challenge of creating a computationally tractable yet biologically faithful multiscale representation capable of simulating plant growth under diverse conditions.
