Since I first started academic life in my Bachelor’s degree in Biology, I found fascinating the vast amount of knowledge that Science could produce. I discovered new areas of research as my studies progressed, and I got in touch with the international community for the first time during my Erasmus studies in Hungary. From then on, I discovered my vocation for research. Once graduated, I moved to Slovenia for a short research internship and stayed there to complete my master studies, focused in crop protection and pest management. Fortunately, I came across the scientific field of “Biotremology”, or the studies of substrate-borne biological emitted signals, during my Erasmus studies in Italy. Among the things I have been most fascinated in connection with this topic is the combination of science and music, two of my greatest passions. My goal is to develop through my work in this young field, in all possible aspects (emission of signals, behavioral repercussions, neural mechanisms, in-field application...) since I believe it will have important repercussions in the way we perceive and understand nature, and favorable applications of this knowledge to different fields (pest management and nature conservation among others).
