Slovenian Society of Microbiology celebrated its 50th anniversary on 24th of November 2010.  At this occasion Prof. Dr. Maja Ravnikar was awarded for her successful transfer of research work to applications in diagnostics. She also gave a talk Research challenges of microorganisms in plants and some recent achievements in Slovenian research, which was prepared with co-authors Tanja Dreo, Maruša Pompe Novak and Marina Dermastia and has been published in a book “Microbiology of yesterday for tomorrow”.
