Invitation to the 4th International Summer School on Advanced Molecular Biology Methods in Biotechnology
Cell and Tissue Engineering Society of Slovenia, National Institute of Biology, Slovenia, and Biosistemika Ltd., Slovenia, are organizing 4th International Summer School on Advanced Molecular Biology Methods in Biotechnology, August 26th – September 3rd, 2011.
The meeting will take place at the Marine Biology Station in Piran, Slovenia. It is located on the attractive coast of Piran, which is an old Mediterranean town, situated at the cape of the Piran peninsula on the northern side of Istria.
The Summer School is organized as a PhD level course intended for graduate students in life sciences, focusing on molecular biology methods in biotechnology. The aim is to introduce the students to various methods used in all fields of molecular biology. The focus of this School is to explain the interactions between the basic building blocks of a cell and to show how to use this knowledge for cell manipulation and application in research and also industry and medicine. Participants will get a good overview of various disciplines and it will be shown how to use knowledge from different areas to solve scientific problems. Lectures will cover experiment design, techniques used for molecular detection and manipulation, and the use of the resulting products in industry and medicine. Summer school will also give option to all the participants to introduce their work.
