Dr. Bojana Žegura visited the Institute for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology to discuss the latest results in toxicological research on nanomaterials
Dr. Bojana Žegura, as part of the ARIS bilateral project 3D-ToX (BI-BA/24-25-27) and the HEU project CutCancer (101079113), visited Dr. Anja Haverić and Dr. Sanin Haverić and their research team at the Institute for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (INGEB) in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
They discussed the latest results in toxicological research on nanomaterials, specifically graphene quantum dots (GQDs) in advanced HepG2 spheroid cell models, representing a significant step forward in understanding their biological impacts and potential applications in biomedicine.
Additionally, they explored the setup of new equipment in their laboratories, specifically the latest CelVivo Clinostar bioreactor technology for cultivating 3D cell models (spheroids), which will significantly enhance the research capabilities of the group.
