Novel orthoreovirus discovered in a stool sample from a child hospitalized with acute gastroenteritis in Slovenia
Collaboration with the Institute of Microbiology and Immunology at Faculty of Medicine in Ljubljana, Department of Infectious Diseases, University Medical Centre Ljubljana and the Omega d.o.o. led to confirmation of the first case of mammalian ortoreovirus* (MRV) detected in a child with acute gastroenteritis.

In the Night of researchers at the marine biological station in Piran was also presented the publication, titled "more space for water".
The UNITED NATIONS Association of Slovenia in cooperation with Slovenian National Commission for UNESCO prepared a set of projects, with the aim to raise awareness about the importance of water resources management: a round table on world water day, a contest for mobile information and publication and e-workshop on international year of cooperation in the field of water.
